Our elderberry syrup is made in small-batches in Seattle, WA. Our syrups are made with dried organic elderberries, organic spices and either raw honey or organic 100% maple syrup. We pride ourselves on using simple ingredients and no preservatives or processed sugars.
Black elderberries (sambucus nigra) are an excellent immune booster! Elderberries contain many vitamins (A, B and loads of C), as well as powerful flavonoids such as anthocyanins that are powerful antioxidants and protect cells against damage. Our organic elderberry farmer in Poland harvests the berries in the fall, and dries them. The dried fruits are then packaged into paper bags and are sent straight to us! Our farmer and her team take care to use only natural materials in their drying process. Your elderberries have never come into contact with plastics! And, the berries are harvested in the fall, so any of our syrups made in 2018 will have berries that were harvested and dried just a few months ago!
Studies show that supplementing with elderberry can lessen the severity and duration of both colds and flu. (1) A 2004 study of elderberry extract in flu patients revealed that symptoms of the flu were relieved 4 days sooner than flu patients who didn’t receive elderberry. (2) Supplementing with elderberry has also been shown to improve sinus infections, aid in skin and hair health, and more! (3) Elderberry is a cost-effective treatment for the flu, and it tastes great too! You may even have elderberries growing near your home. The elder plant has many medicinal uses including: treatment of colds and other infections, allergic conditions (allergies, sinusitis), and more! (4)
Each jar is shelf-stable for up to 1 year, and once opened, store your jar in the fridge and use within 1 month.
